Distributed denial-of-service attacks are cheap to launch and costly to suffer. Downtime hits revenue, customer trust and sometimes regulatory obligations. PeakCyber’s DDoS resilience testing helps you learn how your services and protections behave under pressure, in a controlled setting, instead of finding out during a real attack.
What is DDoS testing?
DDoS testing is an authorized, carefully planned simulation of denial-of-service conditions against your own infrastructure. The aim is to validate that your DDoS protection, scaling and incident procedures work as intended, and to find the weak points that an attacker would target first.
All tests are performed only against systems you own or are authorized to test, with written approval, defined limits and stop conditions.
What we evaluate
- Network layer exposure: how infrastructure handles volumetric and protocol-level pressure
- Application layer resilience: behavior under high-rate or resource-exhausting requests
- DDoS protection effectiveness: whether your CDN, scrubbing provider or WAF activates and mitigates as expected
- Architecture weak points: origin exposure, expensive endpoints, DNS dependencies and single points of failure
- Autoscaling and capacity limits
- Monitoring and alerting: how quickly your team and provider detect and respond
- Incident readiness: runbooks, escalation paths and communication
Our approach
- Scoping, written authorization and coordination with your hosting and DDoS protection providers
- Architecture review and test planning with safe thresholds
- Staged, monitored test execution with agreed stop criteria
- Analysis of results and observed impact
- Reporting with prioritized improvements and retesting if needed
What you receive
- Executive summary
- Test results and observations per layer
- Weaknesses and prioritized recommendations
- Guidance on protection configuration and response procedures
