APIs power your mobile apps, partner integrations and microservices, and they expose your data and business logic directly. They are also a favorite target because a single authorization flaw can expose every customer’s records. PeakCyber’s API security testing finds these flaws before they are abused.
What is API security testing?
It is a manual penetration test focused on your APIs. We examine how they authenticate callers, authorize actions, validate input and handle business logic. Our methodology follows the OWASP API Security Top 10.
What we test
- Broken object level authorization (BOLA/IDOR): accessing other users’ data by changing identifiers
- Broken authentication: weak tokens, JWT flaws, key handling and session issues
- Broken function level authorization: normal users reaching admin functions
- Excessive data exposure and mass assignment: responses or inputs that reveal or modify more than intended
- Rate limiting and resource consumption: abuse, enumeration and brute-force protection
- Injection and input handling across parameters, headers and bodies
- Business logic abuse: workflow bypass and fraud scenarios
- Security misconfiguration: CORS, verbose errors, old versions and undocumented endpoints
- Third-party API consumption risks
Supported API types
REST, GraphQL, SOAP, gRPC and WebSocket APIs, including those behind mobile apps and partner integrations.

What we need from you
An API specification (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman collection or GraphQL schema) and test accounts for different roles help us cover far more. If none exists, we can discover endpoints ourselves.
